About the Teknetics Delta 4000 Metal Detector

The Delta series of metal detectors are often overlooked and certainly underrated.

The Teknetics Delta 4000 Metal Detector is part of the Teknetics T2 family and is best for:

  • Coin hunting
  • Relic hunting
  • Gold prospecting
  • Jewelry hunting

It comes with a large, user-friendly LCD interface with a two-digit numerical target ID system.

The waterproof 8″ coil and the first two feet or so of the shaft can be submerged in fresh water. You’ll find the depth is fantastic in water, finding quarters for example in up to 10-11 inches so long as it’s low-mineralized soil. Usually, you’ll only ID targets to a depth of up to eight inches.

On wet salt beaches, it won’t work so well – depth will only be 3-4 inches. Drop the sensitivity and you can use it on dry sand. It’s worth considering upgrading to the Teknetics Gamma 6000 if you want a metal detector that will work in wet salt beach conditions.
